CANCELED Resilient Chats- How Animals Can Support Humans

March 28 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The goal of this Resilient Chat is to educate our community on the support animals can provide after trauma. There are scientific studies that indicate animals assist with the lowering of cortisol, which is a stress hormone.

Kathy Hulley, from Mane Mission, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in the field for 20+ years. She jokes that she practiced on her family and friends long before receiving her degree! Kathy is passionate about horses and teenagers. She loves combining the energy of both in the therapeutic setting. She and Bruno are members of the Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado Association. Kathy has volunteered with the National Sports Center for the Disabled Therapeutic Riding and Ski Programs, a variety of school intervention programs and has spoken on the topic of bullyproofing your school. Kathy will discuss the supplemental role animals can play in a trauma recovery journey.

This program is for Juniors, Seniors and Adults.
