Even if you didn’t attend the Mindfulness 101 workshop this could be an opportunity to learn ways to practice mindfulness.
So, what is it?
Mindfulness can be applied to many areas of our lives. We get the same benefits as sitting still and meditating as when we do focused, repetitious activities. Chopping vegetables, listening to music, coloring or drawing can calm our minds, slow our heart rates, and restore oxygen-rich blood to our organs when we bring intention to those activities.
It’s just really about the intention that you bring to anything you do, whether it’s sitting still or running on a treadmill. You can do those activities mindLESSly and still be stressed out and unhappy. Or you can begin and end them with the intention of becoming calmer and more connected to your body.
